TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
♦ - The usual monthly meeting of tbe Taranaki {.and Board was held at New Plymouth on March 16th. Messrs Heslop, Ratten bury, and McCluggage were present, and in the absence of the Commissioner, Mr Hesfop occupied the chair.
The Under-Secretary for notified the reappointment of Mr McCluggage as a member of tbe Board. Transfers: The following transfers were dealt with: W. and L. Carter to E. B. Robertson, section 4, block 14, Waro; E. A. Mac Donald to E. W. T. Burnet f. section 4. block 1, Totoro; Meads and Green to EL J. Meads and J. Sheehy, section 3, block $. Ohura; G. G. Willcock to D. M'Donald and E. H. Kerr, section 1, block 1, Piopiotea West; J. H. Lyon to C. J. Ryan, part I. block 4, Ohura. - -General.Mr H. Hine, solicitor, asked that assistance be given to protect tbe interests of bis clients B. J. Stevens and others for felling bush on section 3, block I. Piopiotea West, held by Edgar Hyde, in the event of tbe land being forfeited. H. and F. Standen made a similar request for busbfelling done.--It was resolved that if possible the land be sowir with grass seed in order to preserve the value of the felling and thus enable tbe interests of tbe apnlicatjfs to be protected* Margaret Ban field intimated that j she would forfeit tbe deposit on sec- | tion T, block 9, Town of Aria, as she I could not complete the purchase. | A. A. H. Ellicott applied for leave pf absence from sections 22 and block 31, Ohura. for six months owing to an enforced visit to England.—Granted. It was agreed that under tbe exceptional circumstances in regard to the non-residince of A. Cox head, junior, on section 4. jblock 9, Pouatu, the selector be granted exemption from resitwnw for tbe remainder of the term.— It was decided to obtain a Ranger's report with regard to tbe improvements on section IS, block 2, Aria. E. Kibblewhite's explanation as to building on section 5, block 14, Aria was considered satisfactory. The Education Board, Auckland, asked to be allowed to occupy part of section 12, block i», OhOra, «nd tbo bouse thereon for school purposes until tbe new school at Tatu was ready for use.—The Commissioner's action in giving three months' notice of termination of tenancy was confirmed. E. Tolme reported on the propoials for recreation nmrtc at and a„-cpmmod<|tkn) peddopfc'for Roads Department at the same township. ~U was decided to adopt M r Talma's report Pf> awomtnodatioo paddock. Tbe recreation reserve proposed by tbe surveyor was adopted.
