ALLEGED ILLICIT STILL.
Premises in Adelaide road. Wellington, occupied by Maurice John Cto tins •nd Then Matthews, were raided by the police on Thursday rooming* Chief-detective Brobcrg was in charge, Mid was accompanied by Detective CmMella, Lewis, and Andrews. Information was received several days ago. alleging that a whisky still was feeing conducted on the premises. On Thursday the detectives forcibly entered the house, and arrested Collins and Matthews. It is understood that a still was discovered, including a copper fitted with a tin head, on to which was fitted a worm coiling away into a large trough, the trough containing some gallons of liquid alleged to be undergoing the process of connversion Into whisky. A fire was burning under the copper. In a room t cask alleged to contain illicit whisky was discovered.
