KING COUNTRY NEEDS.
The Hon. A. W. Hogg, accompanied by Mr W. T. Jennings. M.P.. rode from Whangomomona to Managroa and Ohora on Wednesday. A denotation of settlers was introduced tothe Minister, requests being made for road formation, metalting, telephonic facilities, and extension of educational advantages. The Miniscr gave a sympathetic reply, stating that he would do his best with the money allocated him. At Bffangaroa a banquet was given the Minister and members, there being a luge gathering. The Minister said he was charmed with the scenery through Tangarakau Gorge, which was the best he had seen in the Dominion. He was glad to visit the Obttra district, which he could see deserved its reputation of being one of the most important in the Dominion Its wants and requirements of the settlers had been vigorously brought before Parliament and the Ministers by the untiring member. The toast of Mcsers Hogg and Jennings was received enthusiastically. The party proceeded to Otangiwai and Matieie on Thursday, to open a bridge at the former place. Mr Jennings read to Wednesday Bight's gathering a telegram from the Hon. McKenxie, Minister for Public Works, who intimated that he would leave Ongarue on Friday morning for the purpose of settling the routes of the Strstfbrd-Ongarue railway.
