Lewis for rank of Captain and Lieutenant rc-src-ctivek.n Colonel Wolfe, aeccmrauied bv Colonel Allen Bell and Star Sergt.-Major Coleman, returned to Hamilton on Saturday afternoon from an inspection of the route to be taken by toe 2nd Regiment in their '"trokr' During the tour the country was minuter' examined, defensive positions ekesor. and much information tabulated which will be of the utmost use in making the field operation a success. The country chosen for the Easter Manoeuvres on Mr •:. 3. Starkey's property near Motrins vibe, is ideal country for that purpose- and probably could not bo surpassed in X.Z. Starting from the bat country one soon gets on to undulating ridges, which terminate in. a high range, which makes it perfectly sa-'e to use shot and shell. The land ever which the operations will take place has been cleared and in grass, making i. perfect for modern work.
