The above sports give promise _of being an unqualified success, judging by the interest taken by competitors, and with the assistance and liberal support of our business and townspeople, the success of the meeting, socially and financially, must be as-
«ured. The Committee are sparing no efforts to carry out the sports programme in a thoroughly efficent manner, and the comfort of the general public and competitors is claiming first consideration. Given fine weather, March 3rd should be a red letter day in the town, as visitors are expected from all directions. The local business people are altering their half-holiday from Thursday to Wedntsday to meet the wishes of the Committee. The social in the evening should prove a fitting close to the Sports gathernig. The Club has affiliated with the N.Z. Axemen's Association and the Auckland Provincial Athletic Association, under which rules the sports are to be conducted. The following are the nominations for the running events: —
