He waa recently heard to declare that he sat op tiH 4 a.m. one morning cocntiog the money received as nominations for the various events. Owing to the scarcity of farm labour in the district, several of the local farmen have had. perforce to become "squatters''' pro. tern., and employ "Jachercos." A new boarding house is to be erected shortly in Aria., and ought to do very welL When completed, this wilt be a distinct advantage to the township, which will then comprise Two bonding houses, a store, a botcher's ihop, and also a billiard room with alt accessories. ~ Without doubt. Aria ia making rapid strides to the fore-front, and should, whan the railway comes through, in a very few years, compare favourably arith Te Kuiti. We all hope to see a twge number of friends from Te Kuiti out here on sports day, and can assure alt of a hearty welcome.
