DAIRYING INDUSTRY.
Proposed Factory at Kiritehere,
A meeting of settlers was held at Marokop a in the public hall on Saturday, at 3 p.m., to consider the question of dairying in the district. Mr Jno. Wouldes was Chairman, and Mr P. C. Rose consented to act as Hon. Secretary. Three hundred cows were guaranteed, but more will be milked. Mr Chas. Haylock spoke on the subject, and gave a most interesting and instructive address, arid as he is a man of wide experience, he was listened to most attentively.
Three dairying firms, are in communication with the Secretary re the erection of a factory. The next meeting is to be held on Saturday. 20th February, at 2 p.m. The Secretary was instructed to write and ask the Secretary of Agriculture for copies of Dairy Regulations, arid also for information on several other matters relating to Dairying.— Own Correspondent.
