LIQUOR IN THE KING COUNTRY.
SeveraJ cases i>f trafficking in liquor in an unlicensed area were heard at the Taihape Magistrate's Court on Wednesday last. Daniel Morris and Chas. W. Hoggard were each fined £2O for «k taking liquor (unlabelled) into an un--1 licensed area. The costs amounted to £8 14s. George Thos. Hutton, for a similar offence, was fined a simialr amount, with costs £1 9s. W. Parson and Daniel Dunne were each fined £5, and costs £3 ss, for keeping liquor for sale in a native area. The pro- . ceedings are the result of activity on the part of the police to stop sly grog selling.
