TE KUITI RACING CLUB

A large and representative meeting was held on Monday evening last, in Mr Hattaway's Hall, to discuss ways and means of carrying out another race meeting. MrN. B. Lusk was voted to the chair, and explained that though no race ; were held lastyearhe thought the registration of the Club was not affected. The securing of the new course had been rather a stiff task and, the putting of it into good working order would be a greater one, but if the people liked to pull together, the amount neecssary (about £200) could easily be found and a successful meeting held. Two years ago close on £7O was collected in about three weeks, so surely the extra amount could be found in the extra time.

After some discussion the following resolution, proposed by Mr Phillips and seconded by Mr Jensen, was put to the meeting and carried: "That the Racing Club continue under the old name, and that last year's fees be remitted."

The election of officers was then proceeded with and resulted as follows: -Patron: Mr W. T. Jennings, M.P. President: Mr J. T. Hetet. Vice Presidents: Major Lusk, Messrs N. I. Hunt, E. H. Hardy, R. Cotter and F. Iredale. It was decided that the Committee consist of nine members, and as nominations recsived were more, an election took place with the following result:-- -Messrs Lusk (20), Falwasser (18), Broadfoot (IS), Steel (17), Standish (16), E. Kerr (15), Archer (14), V. Hattaway (11), Phillips (11).

Mr Howarth was elected Hon. Secretary and Tieasurer, Mr J. A. Thompson, Auditor, and Dr. Zobel, Hon. Surgeon. After some explanation as to the position of the ground the meeting terminated.
