Vacant Thames Seat. On being interviewed at Invercargill on Friday regarding th- rumour as to his being a candidate for the Thames seat, Mr R. M'-Nab. Ut-- Minister for Lands, said. J. McOowan. Mr Napi»-r has stated that his engagement vv.li not at present permit of his becoming a candidate for Parliament, though he hopes at r.o distant date to return to the poitiical arena.
