ORANGE BLOSSOMS.
4. McColl —Jefferyi, A very pretty wedding took place at St. Luke's Church, Te Kuiti, on the 17th December, the contracting parties being Miss Daisy Jeffery, daughter of Mr R. P. Jeffery, of Christchurch, to Mr W. McColl, of Te Kuiti, only son of the late Mr W. D. McColl, of Christchurch. The day was beautifully fine, and the church was decorated prettily with daisies and other white flowers and palms. The Rev, Gerald Morse conducted the ceremony, at the conclusion of which a beautiful family bible was presented, this being the first wedding to take place in the Church. The bride looked charming in a dress of cream taffeta, the skirt hanging gracefully with panel front and finished with large folds at hem; the bodice being trimmed with chiffon glace, tucked net and silk holiline trimming, with the usual bridal veil and shower bouquet. Miss Kerr acted as bridesmaid, and wore a dainty dress of white silk, trimmed with white satin ribbon and val lace, and chipped straw hat trimmed with chiffon and silk roses, and carried a bouquet of white and red flowers. Mr A. Graham acted as best man, and the bride was given away by Mr J. Mclndoe. The Church was crowded, and during the service the hymn, "The voice that breathed o'er Eden," was sung, the Wed'ling March being played by Mrs Morse as the party left the Church amid showers of rice.
Mrs A. McColl, mother of the bridegroom, afterwards entertained about fifty couples at the Town Hall. The tables were tastefuly decorated with daisies and sweet peas, the bridal cake occupying the centre table. Among those present were: Mrs A. McColl, in a dress of pale grey crepe; Mrs Dr Zobel, white chiffon muslin trimmed with fine val lace; Mrs Gerald Morse, brown satin faced cloth, relieved with rich cream lace and silk trimming; Mrs Seymour, white embroidered lawn; Mrs Julian, cream costume; Miss Boddie, blue taffeta silk; Mrs Melling, black silk skirt and radium silk blouse; Miss Melling, white muslin; Mrs Hacket, check voile over pale blue; Mrs Philips, cream serge skirt and silk blouse; Mrs Lineham, white embroidered lawn; Miss McDowell, white muslin trimmed with val lace; Mrs Chilcott, grey frock trimmed with floral silk; Miss Chilcott, cream lustre; Mrs Boles, cream lustre skirt and silk blouse; Mrs F.
