MAORI ELECTION.
In connection with the Western .Maori election, there is every likelihood of Pepene Eketone entering a petition to have the election declared void. Various irregularities are alleged in connection with taking the poll, and it is thought there are ample grounds for enquiry. The period within which a petition may bp lodged is 28 days after polling day, and as the poll was taken on December 2nd, the document will have to be lodged before December 30th.
