NIHO NIHO.

0 — (Own Correspondent.) A meeting of shareholders and suppliers of the Niho Niho Co-operative Factory was held at Niho Niho on the 15th December, to consider prosecution of member who had guaranteed to the Matiere Factory. Mr Melmar.che, representing the Mangapapa suppliers, explained that as a result of loosing the case, Brasch v. Coventry, they were in the position of having guaranteed to both factories. They were not in a position to supply both, and the Mangapapa settlers wished to know, before they supplied either factory, the extent ot which the Co-opera-tive Company would assist them. After considertion of the various ways that asssitance could be given, a joint and several bond was drawn up, whereby all the suppliers bound themselves to allow one half penny per pound of butter fat to be deducted from their returns, the money to be placed to a fund to pay the fines they may be compelled to pay to the proprietors of the Maitere Factory. The Mangapapa settlers to at once start to supply, and continue to supply the Co-operative r Factory. Much sympathy is felt for the settlers as they, as the result of a misunderstanding of the agreement, have been unwittingly placed in a very awkward position. Starting a Cooperative Factory, their finances have been stretched to the utmost, and any more calls on them would bring a collapse. To prevent this, settlers who are not directly interested in the factory, are offering to share the expense of paying the fines. The ouput is steadily increasing, and with the longer season, this year's result promises to be very satisfactory. The showery weather has brought with it a splendid growth of grass, and everywhere at present there is an abundance of feed.
