KING COUNTRY REQUIREMENTS.
By Telegraph
WELLINGTON, Monday,
While in Wellington last week, Mr Jennings "the energetic member for Taumarunui, who loses no opportunity of advancing the claims of his electorate upon the various departments, had a busy time. In connection with the placing of another stone-crusher on the Te Kuiti-Awakino Road, Mr Jennings waited on the department, and the backblock residents will doubtless be glad to know that a suitable crusher was cabled for to Melbourne, and the machine may be landed at Auckland at any time. The matter of a bi-wceky mail service to Te Kuiti out districts was forcibly brought before the Postal authorities, and further consideration is to be given to the application. The same department was also interviewed regarding the mail and telephone service to Tokirima, and telephone communication to Mangaotaki, Kaeaea, Ratanui, and other places. Other matters, including roads, and the opening up of -Native lands, were placed before the Ministers for consideration.
