Question of Site
At the last meeting of the Waitomo County Council, Cr Were brought forward for discussion a motion dealing with the question of a site for the County Oilier, lie considered the time had arrived when it was the duty of the Council to procure a site at To Kuiti or some oilier suitable place, for Ihe purpose of establishing a. County office and a depot for Council material and plant. The speaker said such a site should he close to Ihe railway station, so thai, material being obtained by rail could readily be unloaded and placed at the depot at Ihe minimum cost. He had had previous experience of a similar ease at I'almorstou North, and when the Council wanted a site, they could not get one under ,£lO a foot. He moved that a committee consisting of Ihe Chairman, Crs Scholes, Johnston, and Hunt be appointed to make full enquiries and report on the matter. Cr Scholes seconded the motion which was carried.
