STOCK SALES.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows: We held our fortnightly sale atOhaupo on Monday last, Tuesday being election day, when we yarded about 700 h3ad of cattle of all classes. There was a good attendance of buyers from the King Country, Raglan, aiid surrounding district, and all sold with the exception of four pens of empty heifers; 2$ and 3 year old steers made up to £4 12s 6d; 2 year old steers £3 10s; 18 month steers £2 13s to £2 15s; 12 to 15 month steers £2 6s 6d to £2 9s 6d; yearling steers £2 to £2 2s; mixed yearlings, £1 14s to £1 18s; yearling heiflers, £1 8s to £1 14s; 2 year old empty heifers, £2 15s to £3; young store cows, £2 10s to £2 15s; fresh do., £3 5s to £3 10s fat cows, £5 12s to £5 14s; dairy cows, at profit, £4 to £5 10s; heifers, £3 10s to £4 ss. A line of 400 ewes and lambs realised 17s lid.
At Rangiriri on Wednesday we had a large entry which necessitated using half the yards a second time and offered altoegther 1600 head of caltte. Buyers were present from all parts of Upper and Lower Waikato and we report a most successful sale. The demand for all classes was good and every lot sold except four pens. Grown steers in forward condition made £6 to £6 15s; 3 year old do., £5 4s to£s 17»; 2j year old steers, £3 18s to £4 8s; 2 year old steers, £3 8s to £3 12s; 15 to 18 months steers, £2 7s 6d to £2 12s; yearling steers, £2 2s to £2 4s; store cows, £2 6s to £2 18s; forward do., £8 10s; fat do., £4 18s to £5 "4s; 18 months empty heifers, £1 15s to £2 2s 6d; mixed yearlings, £1 12s to £ll6s; dairy cows at profit, £5 to £6 10s; 8 year old bulls, £4 10s to £5 ss; aged do., £2 5s to £2 10s. At Cambridge on Friday, November 20th, we yarded 830 store cattle, 110 beef and 50 dairy cows and bulls. A large attendance of buyers were present from Waikato districts, Hikutaia and Matamata., and we report a most successful sale. The competition for fat steers was inclined to be dull at the hammer, but all were sold afterwards excepting three pens, but at lower values than previous month. The 3 and 4 year old forward steers advertised sold at from £6 3s to £6 10s; 3 year old store steers, £4 12s 6d to £5; 2 toJj2J year steers, £3 3s to £3 14b; yearlings to 18 months steers, £2 4s to £2 18s; good quailty mixed yearlings, 19s to £1 6s; empty 18 months to 2 year old heifers, £2 12s to £3 15s; fresh conditioned cows and heifers, £2 16s to £4; store cows, £1 12s 6d to £2; heavy fat steers, £8 to £8 17s; lighter weights, £7 7s 6d to £7 16s; heavy fat cows, £4 15s to £6 10s; prime young cows and heifers, £5 to"£6 10s. aged cows, £4 ss; yearling to 2 year old bulls, £4 12s 6d to £7 7s; good dairy cows near calving or in milk, £6 10s to £8; good heifers, £5 5s to £6; backward springers, £2 15 to £4; forward wethers 14s; fat ewes, 10s 6d to 13s; mixed ewes and hoggets, 9a; 180 pigs sold readily at high values, slips, 18s to £1 6s; weaners, 12s to 14s,
The Farmers' Cq-operative Auction* eering Company, Limited, report so follows:At Hamilton on Wednesday and Thursday 18th and 19th inst., we held our annual Hamilton spring horse fair when we offered 580 unbroken and broken draughts and light horses. Competition was not keen and although a large number of draughts were required, prices showed a further fall. Hacks and light horses were plentiful but. the ideas of value between sellers and buyers in many cases were far apart to give any prospect of a deal. The contracting plant of Riley and Robertson's sold fairly well, 9 tip drays £5 to £ls 10s, disc harrows £4 to £9 5s tine harrows £2 to £2 10s, chain harrows, £3 15s, Oliver ploughs £2 to £3 10s, spring carts £7 to £9 heavy draughts 6 to 8 years old £25 to £35, medium draughts £23 to £3O, medium draughts 3 yeras old £lB to £24, well paced good hacks £ls to £2l, useful hacks and stock horseß, £8 to £l2 10fl, good reliable buggy horses, £l2 to .£l9, light spring cart horses £l4 to £l7, ponies and others £6 downwards.
