OTOROHANGA.
(Own Correspondent.)
Mr Jennings addressed a meeting of electors here on Monday night last. The gathering was typical of the interest taken in the coming contest, as, though the notice was short, there was a crowded audience. Mr Johnson occupied the chair. The candidate touched upon general and local matters, - indicating also what he believed the future of the Taumarunui electorate would be now that the Main Trunk line was completed, and what the immediate throwing open of the waste Crown and Maori lands meant to the Dominion, and the people of the North Island particularly. The address was frequently applauded, and after a number of questions were answered a vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Jennings was carried with great applause.
