Medical Officer Appointed. By Telegraph. Otangiwai, Tuesday. Doctor Bronte has been engaged as medical officer for Northern Ohura at a guaranteed salary of £3tH). Subscribers are not to be charged mileage which is to be paid out of the general funds. ' . ' The above telegram is in connection with negotiations which have been proceeding for some little time. The Northern £>hura-dis'triet is. now becoming well settled, and the retirements, of th'e rapidly increasing'population ' demand: : the presence of a doctor in the district. The settlers are to be congratulated upon their enterprise in uniting for such a worthy object,. and the successful result of their efforts.
