In connection with the deputation it may be stated that the Otorohanga people resolved to contribute the sum of ten pounds towards the expenses of the delegate from that centre, and at the public meeting held at Te Kuiti for the purpose of appointing a delegtae, it was decided to pay the delegate's expenses. During the evening a sum amounting to about five pounds was guaranteed towards the object, but it will be recognised that this amount only goe a short distance towards meeting the expenses of a-trip to Wellington. It is the obvious duty of every township resident to assist in this matter, and subscriptions towards the fund will be received at the "Chronicle" office and duly acknowledged.
