BY TELEGRAPH. Wellington, Thursday. The Post-Master-General informs Mr Gennings that he has decided to increase the frequency of the Ohura mails service to twice weekly. A sum of £3OO is on the Estimates for the drainage of Mangaroa township, Ohura. The Minister of Railways informs Mr Jennings that wken the Main Trunk line is opened Otorohanga will be made a tablet station, and a porter will be stationed there. Other requirements will be taken in hand as opportunity offers. The Minister in charge of the Roads Department stated in answer to a question in the House that it was not proposed to increase pay to chainmen the same rate as that paid to chainmen in the Lands Department. A petition signed by eighteen settlers residing in Awakino district, on towards Kinohaku, has been presented by Mr Jennings to the Minister of Roads. The settlers ask that that a dray road communication be formed between Kawhia South and Awakino. Great interest is being taken by country members in connection with the new dairy regulations now before the Agricultural committee. Mr Jennings has been requested to give evidence before the committee.
