TOWNSHIP TENURE.
Meeting at Tc Kuili. A meeting was held at Te Kuiti on Tuesd'iy evening last for the purpose of receiving the report, of the delegates to the Townships Conference, hold recently at Otorohangr, and to consider the appointnn nt »>i a delegate to proceed to Wellington in conjunct imi with representatives from Otorohanpa and Tanvnarnnui. Mr .lev. Crinsl-v. convener, presided, and road and explained the resolutions which had, heen passed at the Conference. Or, tin- motion <d Mr Boddie. seconded by Mr Flier, the resolutions wore approved of by the meeting. Mr Phillips proposed, and Mr Niche I Is seconded a motion appointing Mr Boddie the Te Kuiti representative on the deputation. Mr Boddie explained that he would hie in Wellington during this month, and would endeavour to make his business there fit in with the visit of the deputation. It was decided that in the event of Mr Boddie being unable to take part in the deputation Mr Steel would act in his place. Mr Boddie drew attention to the fact that the Waitomo County Council was intimately concerned in the matter, and in addition there were many subjects upon which a delegate from the Council couid interview the Government. He proposed that the Chairman of the Council be written to and asked to arrange for a delegate from the Council to proceed to Wellington with the representatives from the three townships. The motion was carried unanimously. It was decided to canvass for subscriptions to cover the delegate's expenses, and the amount of £4 10s was guaranteed in the room.
