CRICKET.
At a meeting held,in the"Chronicle last Monday evening it was decided to form a cricket team in Te Kuiti. There was a "good attendance of lovers of the game, despite the ad J verse weather conditions. It was decided to approach the Domain Committee v/ith a view of securing permission to form a proper pitch on their reserve, and when permission is granted the team has every, reason to expect that a really good wicket will be formed. A good committee was formed to provide ways and means, and the subscription fees were placed at £1 Is for active members, and 10s 6d for honorary members. It is hoped by the team and committee that liberal support will be accorded to place the sport on a good footing as there is every guarantee that Te -Kuiti will be the meeting- place of a number of visiting teams.
' With a good wicket and surroundings the reputation of the town is enhanced, and the district generally benefits by the impressions carried away by visiting teams. The secretary, Jno. H. Trinnear, will be only too pleased to acknowledge any assistance given in furthering the movement to carry on the focal te~am, as well as welcome any lovers of the game in the form of aetive'players or patrons.
