VALEDICTORY.

To Mr. and Mrs. Seymour.

On Thursday evening of last wreek a farewell social was tendered to Mr. and Mrs. Seymour by the residents of Te Kuiti, in Mr. Hattaway's hall. The hall was practically filled, and being nicely decorated with greenery, together with a good floor those present had a most enjoyable time. During the evening Mr. Jer. Ormsby made a speech in reference to the many good qualities o[ Mr. and Mrs. Seymour, and a mark of appreciation in which they were held by the residents, presented Mr. Seymour with a c::sc of pipes, while Mrs. Julian prescnicd Airs. Seymour with two chairs. Mrs. Franklin also spoke in eulogy of Mr, audi Mrs. Seymour. Air. Seymour suitably responded. A very large and varied dance programme. interspersed with songs, was gone through. Mr iietc!, (piano) and Mr. Turner (corneiV supplied the music, while Mr. J. Julian made an efficient Ma'. An excellent supper was provided and handed round at midnight ; after which the dancing was continued and Kepi up vigorously till the small hours .<!' ?iv morning.
