STOCK SALES.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd,, report as follows : On Tuesday at our Ohaupo sale wc yarded 370 cattle, principally calves and 18 months to 2-year-old steers. The advance prices for young cattle of the last two weeks ruled throughout, only one pen of calves failing to reach the owner's reserve at the hammer. Eighteen months to two-pear-old steers realized from from £2 I2s to £3 Qs (according to the size and condition); yearling steers, £2 4s* to £2 8s ; strong good calves £l 13s to £2 is; others £1 6s to £l gs 6d; 2%-year-old steers, £4 5s ; fresh conditioned cows, £2 10 to £3 3s; store cows, £1 16s to £2 2s. Seven hundred and thirty sheep were penned and all sold ; 2-tooth wethers and ewes realized 12s 2d; shorn hoggets, 8s id ; culled hoggets, 4s 4d. On Wednesday we held a clearing sale near Ngaruawahia on account of Mr. E. A. Bryant. There was a good attendance „and the stock, furniture and sundries all realized satisfactory prices. Dairy cows made from £4 to £6 15s ; young sow, £2 10s ; porkers, £l 4s ; fowls, 2s 3d to 2s Bd.
