MANGAPAPA.
(Own Correspondent). The dance held by the ladies in the Mangapapa Schoolroom on Friday 3rd inst. proved a great success. Mrs. Peacock made an excellent M.C, and Messrs Olscn (2), Boult and Riddle supplied excellent music. 'Musical items were contributed by Mr. and Mrs. Bennett, and Messrs. Boult (2), Riddle and others. At a general meeting of proposed subscribers to the North Ohura Medical Association held at Matiere on Saturday, 4th inst, it was decided to take immediate steps to effect registration, and the district was divided into wards, viz.: Matiere, Whcnuakura, Mangapapa, Mangakahikatea and Niho Mihb, and each ward is entitled to elect one representative for a representative medical committee. Mr J. H. Lyon was unanimously elected hon. sec. and treasurer. It is proposed to send Home for a suitable man at a salary of £250 and £SO additional as house allowance. The meetings to elect representatives are to take place on Saturday, nth inst, at centres in each of the several wards. Mr Symonds is responsible for convening the meeting at Whenuakura, Mr Sowry at Mangakahikatea, Mr L. Bicheno at Mangapapa. Matiere, to save another meeting, elected Mr Lyon at the general meeting. Niho Niho has yet to be arranged for.
