The clearance sale at Dr Pairnpn's on June 17th, was favoured with splendid weather, and satisfactory prices were realised for most of the articles offered.
A farewell social was given to Dr Pairman, Mr J. B. Teasdale in the chair, in the Town Hall on Thursday, June 18th, when there was a good at tendance of friends to bid good-bye to their old medical man, who has resided in the district for the last sixteen years. Songs were rendered by Messrs Bathurst, Wallace, Parker, Mrs Ahier, Misses Teasdale, Hicks and Bathurst, and Mr Moller (violin solo). Speeches were given by Messrs Teasdale, Mandeno and the Rev. Clarke as to the doctor's good service in the district. Mr Collins, on behalf of the Bowling suitable speech, presented Dr TsJi*rman with a nice set of silver-mounted pipes, and a silver tray. The doctor in a short speech, suitably thanked the residents for the handsome presents. After supper the Hall Was cleared for dancing, which continued until the early hours of the morning, and everyone seemed to have had a most enjoyable night's outing.
