OTOROHANGA.
The Musical and Dramatic Club gave their first concert to a large and appreciative audience on Wednesday evening, June 3rd. The first part consisted of glees, choruses, solos and dances, while in the second a :comedy farce, entitled " Kissing goes by favour," was staged. The whole reflects great credit on the performers. Miss Jolinson played the accompaniments in her usual efficient manner, and «the following programme was got through : Overture, Miss Johnson (piano) and Mr Prince (violin); glee, "O, who will o'er the gowns," Company ; solo, " Doreen," Mr C. Johnson ; comic song, " The Preacher and the Bear," Mr Owen ; solo, " Anchored," Mr Irvine ; Highland Fling (in costume), Mr Moon ; solo, " The Admiral's Mr Forster; comic song, " For a Friend," Mr Owen ; song ana* cfance" " Come down to the gate," Mr Irvine ; solo, " Little rocking chair and you," Mr Westbury; . chorus, " The Ringtail Coon," Company. The following are the name of those who took part in the farce : —Miss Taylor (Perione), Miss W. Johnson (Marchioness de Lancey), Miss Wilkinson (Josephine), Mr Percy Johnson (Jean Grillon), Mr Prince (Duke de Bassompiere), Mill. Johnson (policeman), Mr R. Ormsby, Mr Irvine, Mr Westbury (reapers).
