THE PREMIER'S VISIT.
---— im A telegram was received from. Jennings, member for the district, on Saturday last stating that the Premier, accompanied by Mr Jennings, would arrive at Te Kuiti on Wednesday, June 17th, and would deliver an address at that centre in the evening. Some time ago when the Premier was expected a committee was appointed at Te Kuiti to draw up a schedule of subjects to be placed before the Premier, but failing definite information as to the time of the visit, the report of the committee was not made public. A public meeting has been called for Saturday evening next, when the report will be presented, and it remains for the residents to take such further action as may seem advisable to prepare a fitting reception for the Premier and parly. Doubtless a representative gathering will assemble at Te Kuiti on Saturday evening to discuss the matter. It has been decided to hold the next meeting of the Waitomo County Council at Te Kuiti, on Tuesday, June 16th, in order to afford members the opportunity of discussing country requirements to place before the Premier.
