WEDDING BELLS.
On Tueochy last a pretty wedding was celebrated at Mahoenui, when Mr F. Armstrong and Miss Oid were joined in matrimony. The ceremony was conducted by the. Rev. R. Mitchell, of Te Kuiti. The bride, who was attended by four ' bridesmaids, looked charming in the usual wedding dress and .veil, and the bridesmaids were also becomingly gowned. Guests to the number of sixty sat down to the /wedding breakfast, the whole of the settlers of the surrounding trict being present to grace the occasion. A striking and extremely pleasing feature in connection with the event was the Maori welcome and haka of farewell to the bride and bridegroom. Mr Old, the bride's father, is one of the pioneer settlers of the district, and has been long and intimately known bjfc the Maoris. It speaks much for the esteem in which the family are held by their Native neighbours to see an attendance such as was present.
