was a good attendance _ of paLj>hioners at the annual meeting heSfcitf St. John's Church on Tuesday week. The Rev. F. Clarke presided. The statement of accounts showed an improvement as compared with the previous year. During the period just closed the vicar officiated at 174 services, travelling 1013 miles, and 10 deaths, 32 baptisms, and 15 marriages were recorded. The vicar nominated Mr W, Von Stunner as his warden, and Mr R. S. Galbraith was elected people's warden. The following yestry was elected : —Messrs J. L. Mandeno, Charles Bowden, E. S. Miller, R. S. Galbraith, F. Bowden, Geo. Ahier, F. D. Wood, F. Potts, H. E. Mogford and J. Rackey. It was decided to raise funds for the purpose of having the local cemetery put into order. The report and balance-sheet in connection with the Sunday School was submitted, which showed the school to be in a sound state. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs James North (the Church organist) and also to Mrs R. S. Galbraith and her staff of Sunday School teachers.
A letter-carrier's delivery was commenced in Te Awamutu oh Monday week. Deliveries of correspondence will be made daily at 9 a.m. within the business portion of the town, and at 3 p.m. within one mile of the post office.
Dr Pairinan, who has practised here for the past 16 years, has sold out to Dr Albert Henderson, a recent arrival from Scotland.
