TE KUITI LOAN.
Proposed Scheme of Works. The arrangements for taking a poll off the proposal to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of carrying out street works in Te Kuiti are now completed, and the poll will be taken on Monday next. Considerable interest is being taken in the project, and a public meeting is to be held to-night (Friday), in connection with the matter. When the project was first mooted,'a committee, com-Fling of Messrs Sims, Seymour. Lorigan, Pepene, Blackman and Steel were elected to act in conjuncti..n with Mr J. Ormsby, member Fr the riding, in preparing a .-eheme •■: works to submit for appnn .:! in applying Tor the loan. The scheme w.-. duly prepared, and a.ppr. wed by 'die dainty Council, Iml, as the i'uil o'.iails have not hitherto been puMi.dicd, it lias been decided to submit a lull report of the same to a public meeting. The recommendations o\ the Committee arc as follow : Mora Street: Forming and metalling with limestone from King Street to Awakino Road. Forming the footpath, and gravelling, from King Street to Awakino Road. Forming the footpath throughout to the school. Taupiri Street : Forming the street and footpaths throughout. Alexandra Street : Forming the street and footpath throughout. King Street : Forming the street and footpath throughout. Sheridan Street : Forming the street and footpath throughout. Fsplanadc : Forming between Awakino Road and Taupiri Street. Forming between King Street and Sheridan Sl'reet. Carroll Street : Forming the street and footpath from King Street to Awakm < K'^}. Seddon Street: Forming the street and toot path from Carroll Street to South Street. Ouecn Street; Forming the street and footpath from Carroll Street to South Street. Tonga Street: Forming same throughout.
