TE KUITI PROPOSED LOAN.
. + The statutory meeting in connection with the proposed Te Kuiti loan was held in the Hall on Monday last. There was a fair attendance, and Mr J. Ormsby, councillor for the riding, presided." The Chairman explained that the meeting was for the purpose of giving ratepayers an opportunity of discussing the proposal, and of deciding whether a poll should be taken on the matter. The meeting had to be held, and was, more or less, of a formal nature. One or two questions were put to the Chairman rclatin:; to details, and it was then proposed bv Air J. Steel, and seconded bv A!i- <i, 'AlcPonald, that the prop.i Mii be proceeded with, and the
polling day ai ranged. The motion was earned with but one dissentient.
