N.Z. FARMERS' UNION.

Mokau-iti Branch.

The monthly meeting of the above Branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union -was held on March 14th, when there was a good attendance of members/and officeis for the ensuing year were elected. Mr Elwood was in the chair, and in his opening remarks said he was pleased to see Mr Hickman, the secretary, back again, and asked the meeting to accord him a heartv welcome. He also moved a vole of thanks to Mr C. Riddle, for acting as secretary during Mr Hickman's absence. Mr Hickman responded in a suitable manner; and briefiv thanked the Chairman and those"nresent tor their good wishes. The" Treasurer's balance - sheet showed the Branch to be on the right side of the ledger, and on Mr Nelson'smotion, was accepted as read. The following officers were elected : President—F. Elwood ; Vice-Presi-dent— A. Williams ; Auditor — S. -- Riddle : Treasurer and Secretary—C. Riddle : Executive Committe—Seven (7) members. The matter of selecting a member to act as delegate to Provincial Conference was adjourned to a future meeting, the meeting to be held in the afternoon, sometime during the winter. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr S. Riddle, retiring treasurer, and Mr Hickman, retiring secretary, and the meeting adjourned with the usual vote of thanks to the Chair.
