MEETING AT MAIROA.
A meeting was held i-a the Mairoa Hall on Saturday evening last for the purpose of discussing matters to place before the Premier during his ' isit tflh' district. Mr N. B. Lusk and th.re a good attendance of settlers.. After the views of the meeting had been taken it was decided that the following matters be advocated :- The deviation of the Stratford railway to Te Kuiti . the metalling of the Awakino road ; and of the mail service n ;T"fuitito.outlyi f distr,c^ -•-'-,; week v service. A committee, cons SnVof Messrs Lusk 1 horns, H Vnvce Chestnut and Jackson, was fppointed to confer with representa-fiV-Ss from adjoining district*.
