TE KUITI'S PROGRESS.

The.growth of Te Kuiti, though somewhat slow in beginning, promises to be as rapid las that of any other town on the Main Trunk line, and the building trade is extremely brisk in the township at present. The new courthouse, for which Mr Mclndoe has the contract, is now well under wav. and other public buildings to be erected forthwith include the block for the housing of the'ofrkials of the Roads, Lands and Stock Departments, and the Stock Inspector's residence. The brick building for the of New Zealand is now almost completed by Messrs Mordaunt and Bailey, and the same firm has just finished a two-storey building for Mr Nicholls, Messrs Green and Colebrook's block of offices at the corner of Taupiri and Sheridan streets has been commenced by Messrs Scott Bros., and a block of ."shops in Rora street is being erected by Messrs Hitchcock and Moody for Mr Boddie. Tenders are being called by Mr J. T. Hetet for the erection of a fine commodious hall in Taupiri street, and it is expected that the new post-office wiU be erected at an early date in Rora street. In addition to the building's' mentioned a large number of private residences are being erected in various portions of the town.
