PAEMAKO.
A meeting was held in the Paemako schoolroom on Saturday evening last, for the purpose of discussing items of. interest to lay before the Premier on his proposed visit to Te Kuiti and Aria. There was a large attendance of local settlers and also a few from Kaeaea. Mr Dwyer was voted to the chair and briefly stated the object of the meeting. The principal subject discussed was the proposed PuketutuStratford railway, which is now being surveyed. A considerable amount of discussion followed concerning the various routes, and it was eventually decided, on the motion of MrSincock, seconded by Mr Anderson, that the meeting pledge itself to vigorously support the Puketutu-Mangaroa deviation as the route which was of the greatest national interest. It was further resolved to appoint delegates from each of the centres to lay this and other matters before the Premier during his visit. The following delegates were then appointed: Messrs Dwyer, Ridley, Anderson and Elliott. The delegates were also instructed to bring before the Premier's notice the importance of a bi-weekly mail service to out districts and the urgent need f<>r a stone crusher.
