VOLUNTEER NEWS.
The Volunteer movement is taking a strong hold in the King Count ry. and in a very short time (here is every likelihood of a squadron being formed with its headquarters at Tc Kuiti. A short time ago a troop was formed at Te Kuiti and there is now a membership of between iwuity and thirty. 'The movement has been taken u\) with enthusiasm, am! assisted bv ScrgcanCMajor Coleman (who lias been indefatigable in his efforts to forward the project) aial Captain Berry the interest has been well maintained. There is now every probability of a troop being formed at ITmio where it is staled about twenty members could be obtained, and a meeting is to be held at Aria on February 2<)ih for the purpose of endeavouring to form a troop in that centre. There is ample material iu the district for establishing a good strong squadron, and in carry in i;' out such a commendable scheme the the promoters expect to receive the support of the public generally.
