Te Kuiti Races.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —As one interested in furthering sport I should like very much to know if anything is to be done towards running a race meeting at Te Kuiti this year. When last year's races were taken in hand it was generally thought that proper steps would be taken to have the matter attended to in time for this season. Up to the present I have heard one or two mention the isubject casually, but " that tired feeling " seems to be very prevalent among the sports of this district. Trusting these few lines will help to bring together those who desire to encourage the sport in the district on the best lines. —I am, etc., CENTAUR. TO THE EDITOR. Sir.—ln the issue of the " New Zealand Herald " of the 6th inst., Mr Tas, Boddie, of Te Kuiti, is reported to nave told a Wellington paperman, in referring to the King Country, that he knows of " One instance in which a Maori holds between 60,000 and 70,000, acres. Would you kindly permit me through your columns to ask Mr Boddie to name this fortunate (or, perhaps, unfortunate) individual, or give the name of the block to which he refers.—l am, etc., INTERESTED.
