The following telegram has been received by Mr Jer. Mr Cowley proceeded next day to the Hamilton Hospital. | The festive season was anticipated by a few enthusiasts in the King Country, and on the journey to Te Kuiti on Monday a disturbance took place in the train. On Tuesday morning the inevitable sequel was enacted at the Police Court, before Mr J. Tammadge, J.P., Charles Armstrong being: charge with violent behaviour and drunkenness in a railway carriage. Accused pleaded guilty and was fined 20s and costs for violence, and 5s and costs for drunkenness, twentyeight days being allowed for payment. In connection with the appointment of a new Stipendiary Magistrate for the King Country and portion of the Waikato, it is stated that Mr Cutten, S.M„ will relieve Mr Northcroft, who will continue to undertake the Magisterial duties of the district North of Hamilton.
