The following telegram has been received by Mr Jer. Ormsby from Mr Jennings, M.P., in response to a message requesting the Premier to visit Te Kuiti during the recess " The Premier informs me it is his intention to visit my electorate after the holidays. This will not be before the end of January. I shall let you know in sufficient time to make arrangements. The question of Te Kuiti Post-office site is being re-considered." An unfortunate accident happened to a spectator at the Otorohanga Sports, on Thursday last, when James Cowley was accidentally struck in the thigh with an axe, and sustained a nasty w r ound. Luckily Mr Holland, of Te Kuiti, was present, and attended the injured man, and found it necessary to put in five stitches. Mr Cowley proceeded next day to the Hamilton Hospital. | The festive season was anticipated by a few enthusiasts in the King Country, and on the journey to Te Kuiti on Monday a disturbance took place in the train. On Tuesday morning the inevitable sequel was enacted at the Police Court, before Mr J. Tammadge, J.P., Charles Armstrong being: charge with violent behaviour and drunkenness in a railway carriage. Accused pleaded guilty and was fined 20s and costs for violence, and 5s and costs for drunkenness, twentyeight days being allowed for payment. In connection with the appointment of a new Stipendiary Magistrate for the King Country and portion of the Waikato, it is stated that Mr Cutten, S.M„ will relieve Mr Northcroft, who will continue to undertake the Magisterial duties of the district North of Hamilton.
