The Willows.
TO THE EDITOR. . SIR, —I read with pleasure the very common sense epistle of your correspondent in last week's issue with reference to straightening the streams instead of attempting to clear them of willows. The work of straightening could, I believe, be. accomplished with very little more expenditure than that of willow eradication and the benefits are obvious. I sincerely hope the County Council will give some attention to this important matter with a view to effecting permanent benefit. — I am, etc., WAITOMO.
