SUDDEN DEATH AT WAIMEHA.

A man named Charles Wise, a platelayer at Waimeha, while cleaning his chimney on Sunday, fell from the top of the chimney to the ground, and broke his neck. An inquest was held on Monday, by the district Coroner, Mr A. S. Laird. A neighbour deposed having seen deceased suddenly fall from the top of the chimney on to the roof of his house.

Dr Cairns, of Taumarunui who conducted the post-mortem stated that the deceased died from heart disease and had died before falling on the roof.

The deceased was apparently in good health 011 Saturday. He had only been in the railway service for about six months. Before joining the service he had been passed by a doctor. He is 31 years age, and a married man with two children. The body was removed to Auckland for burial on Tuesday.
