MANGAPEEHI.
We have been favoured with beautiful weather during the past fortnight. The local tennis court has been undergoing a thorough overhaul and great credit is due to the committee for the present good court. We are to be favoured with a visit from the Rangaroa Club on Saturday, when some interesting matches are expected; Fishing season has opened in real earnest, but the fish are very shy at present. Mr C. Cowan, the " boss " angler, seems to be the only successful one so far. As usual many good " fish stories " are being spun. The Rev. J. E. Ward and Sister
Allison arrived here yesterday, and
went out to Tiroa to-day.' 'Sister is, I believe, a deaconess of trie Presbyterian Church, and will - be stationed at Tiroa." Her' work among the Natives will be greatly appreciated. Mrs Nafikervis; accompanied by her daughter, of Mount Morgan, Queensland, arrived here on a visit to her daughter, Mrs J. Bailey.
