The Mangaorino Road.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—lt is perhaps rather late to call attention to the disgraceful state ol the Mangaorino road close to the township, but there is a reasonable limit to all things, and that limit, in the case referred to, was reached long since. We have a County Council and a District Road Office, but as far as any improvement to the local roads is concerned, they might as well be non-existent. Considering that the road in question is as good as could be expected in other parts, it seems strange that the portion adjoining the township was left to look after itself. Fancy being able to drive to within a quarter of a mile of the township to find yourself confronted with an impassable quagmire. I trust that those responsible will_ be inspired to action as soon as possible in order to improve matters. The good weather is approaching, and unless agitation is made the road will probably be allowed to drift into the same condition next winter.—l am, etc., SUFFERER.
