On Thursday, August Bth, we held our Hamilton sale, the advertised number of cattle being penned. Fat cattle were inclined to be dull of sale, but were, nevertheless, all sold at the hammer, or afterwards. Fat steers sold at from £7 15s to £8 10s, lighter weights £6 15s. to £7 7s 6d, fat cows and heifers £4 10s to £5 12s 6d. All classes of store cattle werr required and sold at slightly harder prices. Yearling steers £2 to £2 3s 6d, calves 20s to 295, smaller sorts 14s 6d to 16s, 18-month to 2-year steers £2 14s to £3 10s, empty cows and heifers £2 to £2 I2s, good dairy cows near profit £6 10s to £9, heifers £4 10s to £5 ss. Two hundred sheep elicited keen competition, all selling. Fat wethers £1 ss, fat ewes £1 2s, fat hoggets I/six) 19s. Pigs.—Slips 18s to £l 3s, weaners us 6d to 14s. At Cambridge, on Friday, August 9th, we had a poor sale. Fifty-eight prime steers sold at from £8 5s to £8 I2s 6d, lighter weights £6 15s to £7 10s, good cows and heifers £4 10s to £5 lis, to 3-year steers £4 ios to £5 ss, 2-year steers £3 to £3 7s 6d, 12-months steers £2 to £2 4s, calves £1 9s to £1 13s, fat sheep 26s 6d. Pigs. — Store 22s to 255, slips 14s, weaners ios to 12s 6d.
