TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board \va, he! 1 on Tuesday, July l6(h. There were present: The Commissioner (in the chair), Messrs Conned, lleslop, and McCluggage, The following applications were approved, subject to the specified conditions: ■•('.. Smith. 21/ acres, section 15, block 2, Aria, l.i.n. ; Ivy Grace Gibson, 73'.' ae'res, section 8, block 14, Aria, l.i.p. Transfers : A. Plank to K. While, section 2, block 15, Ohura; J. McClure to R. 11. McKcn/.ic, sections 7 and 10, block l, Aria ; W. 11. Read to li. E. Mclvor, section S, block H, Ohura. It was resolvcel that (he applications of A. Plank and W. JI. Read, be deferred for the ranger's report, and that Mr McGinn- be summoned to appear before the next meeting of the Board. J. 11. Hoar applied to transfer portion of section to, block 3, Ohura, to A. I. Storey, for saleyards at Matiere. A plan of survey was submitted and the application was approved in terms of section 2 e>f "The Land Act, Amendment Act, l8<)5." A concession refused: M. llealy, the transferee of sevtion 2, block 7, Aria, applied for a remission of rent under the " Bush and Swamp Act," but the Board could not see its way to grant the concession. Application lor lease : J. Ileggl'n applied for a lease of Crown land adjoining' sections 2, 3 and 4, block 4, Town of Aria. Deferred for ranger's report.
Rancor's report : K. Tolmc, Crown Lands Ranger, reported on the inspection of forty holdings, comprising an area of M/) 35 acres. Requirements of Act: .Improvements value £2874; improvements ei'l't'cted valued at £10,6/2. Twenty-three selectors are resident, six have not complied with the conditions in this respect, and two have not cllcclcd suilicicnl improvements. Resolved that those in default he uotilied to show cause whv thev had not complied with Ihe Act. Oilura Dairy Company: K. C.rifiiths and Co. applied to he granted permission to occupy about 5 acres at Niho Nilio. ■ It was resolved that the Ohura Hairy Company be allowed to occupy such an area as may be determined by the Commissioner, and erect building's (hereon, and that the necessary steps be laken to have the land put up to public auction.
