AWAKINO SHEEP DOG TRIAL.
+ The Awakino Sheep Dog Trial Club's competitions, which are to be held on Saturday next, are arousing considerable interest, and} promise to be well patronised by local people. Unfortunately winter in the King Country carries with it certain disadvantages in the shape of bad roads, which render travelling from a distance almost impossible, otherwise outside support would doubtless be much greater. However, the first annual meeting of the club promises well, and with better conditions in succeeding years, there is every reason to predict a growing popularity for the competitions, which are such features of interest in sheep raising localities. Much of the King Country is ideal sheep country, and anything which tends to raise the standard of work in connection with the industry is deserving of the heartiest support. The time for taking entries for the competition has been extended till Friday, July sth.
