-e Annual Meeting

The annual general meeting of the Te Kuiti Anglican .Church was hold iii Hetet's Hall on Tuesday evening last. In spite of the inclement weather there was a fair attendance. The report of the committee showed that satisfactory progress had been made during the year. The site for the church is now being vested in trustees, and Mr Price has kindly prepared plans for a small building to cost about £l6O. A freehold section has been obtained for a parsonage on the eastern side of the river at a cost of £SO, and a a cottage erected thereon at a cost of £B7, the whole amount being defrayed by voluntaiy subscriptions, a donation of £8 from St. Peter's Church Guild at Hamilton, and a loan of £75 from the Rev. S. Spencer. There is now in hand for a church building £IOO. In October last a successful concert was held, which netted £lB 15s, and a Bazaar in April returned about £65, while voluntaiy subscriptions amounted to about £3O. The meeting recommended that immediate steps be taken to commence the erection of the church, which will be a first charge on the funds in hand. A committee for the ensuing year was elected, Miss Melling being appointed Treasurer, and Mr Hine Secretary.
