STOCK SALES.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows: — On Wednesday, June I2th, at Kihikihi, we held a clearing sale of live and dead stcck on account of Mr C. Hinton. There was a good attendance, and spirited bidding throughout. The best cows made £6 5s to £7 10s, others £4 7s 6d to £5 10s, well-grown good heifers due to calve August and September £4 17s 6d to £5 ss, empty heifers £2 7s 6d, bull £2 ss, buggy horse £ls, single buggy £25, drill £2l.
On Thursday we held our Hamilton sale. Forty light-weight steers made £6 17s 6d to £7 10?, good calves 14s to 19s, smaller 10s to 12s, fresh cows £2 15s to £3 10s. 400 sheep were yarded and competition was brisk. Fat ewes 18s, fat wethers 225. woolly lambs 12s, store shorn lambs 9s 6d to 10s 3d, fat and forward shorn lambs lis 3d to I2s. There were no pigs yarded. At Cambridge on Friday, June 14th, we report a successful sale. Heavy, good steers brought £8 7s 6d to £9 lOs, well-fatted cows and heifers £5 5s to £5 16s, 3-year-old steers £4 17s, fresh cows £3 5s to £4 2s 6d, good calves 19s to 255, others lOs to 14s, empty 18-month and 2-year heifers £2 lOs, yearling to 15-month heifers 25s to 355, 18-month and 2-year steers £2 I2s to £3 3s, good cows in full profit and near calving £7 5 s to £8 I2s 6d, cows to calve in August £5 5s to £7, backward cows £4 5s to £4 15s, aged cows £2 lOs to £3 I2s 6d. Pigs sold readily. Slips 18s 6d, weaners 10s.
