PUBLIC HALL FOR TE KUITI.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir—Writing to the paper is not my forte, but I see that some one must move if we want to have any amusement in this rapidly-growing township. The necessity for a large and commodious hall for Te Kuiti is very and I think that another effort Fh<.<ukl'b3 m~de with the proposed Hall Company. The present building is very unsuitable and also very uncomfortable, and evidence of this was clearly demonstrated on the last few occasion which the hall was used. On a windy evening one wants to be well wrapped up to guard against a " stiff neck," and sitting on forms without backs does not lend much enchantment, however amusing the entertainment might be. There is not the least doubt that if another attempt was made to form a Hall Company that the shares would be readily taken up, and the erection of a suitable building would certainly be the means of enabling the residents to have a little more amusement. For goodness sake, gentlemen of Te Kuiti, wake up and get the project placed on a sound footing, and I, with others, will assist in every possible way to make the "opening night" one of the most enjoyable, and also one that will long be remembered in the history of Te Kuiti.—l am, etc., LADY RESIDENT.
