TE KUITI RACING CLUB.

Annua! Meeting. The annual meeting of the Te Kniti Racing Club was held on May 24th, and passed off satisfactorily. The weather conditions were hardly favourable to good racing, the heavy rain which fell on the previous night having the effect of making thegoing very heavy. In piaccs where the course had been repaired then- were sonic very soft spots, and the heavy showers which fell during the day did not improve matters in this respect. The attendance was fair, despite the unfavourable conditions, upwards of three hundred being present on the. course. Owing to a variety of causes the iields were small, and the finishes were not exciting. The chief winner proved to be the locally-owned Pukcnui, who accounted for the Cup and Flying handicap. The hurdle race resolved itself into a contest between Muriwai and Baritone, the former proving successful after a good race.
